As we continue to monitor the situation with the COVID-19 pandemic, We at Sun Africa Hotels care about your experience with us and would like to assure you that your safety and comfort remain our highest priority. Our thoughts are with those who are affected by this virus and those who are caring for them. We have therefore taken measures to ensure every guest comfort and experience is in line with the Ministry of Health laid out protocols and procedural guidelines to ensure a healthy and safe environment for our guests and employees. By ensuring that your well-being is prioritized without compromising on the guest experience, our commitment is to further enhance our existing operational standards. It builds on existing protocols and complements exhaustive mandatory preventive measures by the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization(WHO). These have been rolled out in all our properties across the country.

In line with these protocols, we have made all the necessary adjustments to ensure social and safe distancing is in place with enhanced standards of cleanliness, appropriate temperature checks, and frequent sanitization of high contact points on regular basis. Social distancing will be observed for interactions between guests and employees. Enhanced food protocols will be adhered to when preparing meals for our guests. Regular use of the recommended Personal Protective gear and equipment to ensure the health and safety of guests and employees. Below is an outline of all the protocols that we shall observe. Our current Procedures and protocols

Arrival Check In Procedure

  1. Temperature checks will be done maintaining social and physical distance as you arrive at the property
  2. Our well-trained staff will take you through our sanitization process
  3. Any guest who will have a temperature exceeding the 37.5 will be met by our clinical officer
  4. Hand sanitizers will be available at the hotel lobby. There are water points at designated areas
  5. Guest will be required to wear masks at all times. Signage will be in place to ensure social and physical distance
  6. All luggage will be sanitized before proceeding to the check-in counter
  7. The lobby surfaces will be constantly sanitized. Keys to the room will be sanitized
  8. Contactless payment options will be available and encouraged
  9. All staff have undergone a Covid-19 preventative health and safety training

Housekeeping Health and Safety Protocols

  1. All our common areas and touchpoints like counters, door handles, elevator and elevator buttons, staircases are sanitized at regular intervals using recommended sanitizers
  2. Automatic hand sanitizers are available at various public areas for easy access
  3. The room will be deeply sanitized and disinfected with extra attention to detail. All electrical sockets, door handles, knobs, remote controls, workstations, switches, and telephones.
  4. The bathroom will go through a deep cleaning process. WC flush handles, shower handles, toilet flush handle seat covers vanity counters and floors.
  5. ULV misting is used to further sanitize the rooms
  6. All rooms will have a wellness kit
  7. Our Team will wear PPE kits where appropriate

Restaurants & Bars

  1. Contactless Menus will be used
  2. Social distancing signage will be placed at all outlets
  3. Restaurant seating has been configured to ensure social distancing is in place
  4. Our team will wear disposable gloves, face masks and protective gear as required.
  5. After temperature check and sanitization is done you shall be seated at a reserved pre sanitized table following social distancing norms.
  6. All restaurant furniture will be sanitized before and after every guest use.

In room-dinning

  1. Digital in-room dining menus will be available
  2. Contactless delivery
  3. The team will deliver in the recommended personal protective gear facemasks and gloves
  4. Food will be covered on delivery

Conferencing & Banqueting

  1. Meeting rooms have been reconfigured to ensure social and physical distance of 1.5 meters in place
  2. Social distance will apply during tea breaks and breakout areas
  3. sanitization will be done during and after each meeting
  4. Stationery will be kept by each guest during their stay

Laundry

  1. Our Team will wear PPE kits where appropriate
  2. All laundry baskets will be sterilized and sanitized after each use

Kitchen

  1. Staff will prepare your meals with the recommended protective gear, face mask, and gloves
  2. Social distance for the team at their work stations
  3. Sanitization will be followed prior to preparation of all meals
  4. All kitchen surfaces will be cleaned, disinfected and sanitized after every use
